Keeping humans in cages?

I'm curious about instances throughout history (thousands of years ago to recent) of humans being locked in cages for extended periods of time. Genie the wild child and medieval dungeon cages are some examples. Post links to pictures of human cages, stories about this, mythology, anything about humans being locked in cages. Of course modern prison is something we all already know about, so that's not what i'm asking for information on, but if you have a particularly interesting bit of information about prison that is welcome too.
