ASTEROID MISSED THE EARTH BY 4,000 FEET?

Ryan Williams from nightly news said there was an asteroid that nearly struck the earth. According to him it was about as big as a ten story building and missed us by about 4,000 feet (i believe this is what he said). Does anyone else know anymore information about this?
