Why in the U.S.A. is there alot of attention given to the 6 million Jews that were murdered in Europe?

Why isnt there as much attention given to the American Indians,since if you were to add up all the murders of the American Indians of the entire western hemisphere it sure damn adds up more than the mere 6 million of killed Jews!
