Are Evolution and Creationism really the same thing?

The bible is a collection of metaphoric stories and I doubt any of them were meant to be taken literally. I must admit I've never considered the story of adam and eve in that way before but now you mention it I think your explanation may well be the right one. It certainly makes a lot more sense than taking the story literally let's face it!
